If you are tired of staring at a blank Canva scree If you are tired of staring at a blank Canva screen and would love to be able to use it with INTENTION….Keep reading!

I have been using Canvas since the beginning… I mean since before it was a thing!

and in that time I have spent hours and hours and hours learning new things, attending Canva create in Los Angeles, and becoming the most intentional Canva expert I possibly can!

if you are looking to spend some of your summertime this summer, actually getting into Canva and using it with intention… Meaning actually making things that you can take right into your classroom, or, take them into TPT or your own website and start selling and making money off of your creations… Then I have the perfect course for you!

My course, Canva Magic for the Classroom and BEYOND is only open once a year… I only open it during the month of July!

It is the only Canva course you were going to find curated by an educator both in and out of the classroom, and includes not just videos for you to watch, but will also give you the opportunity to get templates that you can use immediately to either start making things for your classroom or to start making things to sell to other others!

Stop a comment with CANVA and I will send you the link to jump inside the course today!
Stepping into a new role at a new school was how I Stepping into a new role at a new school was how I started off the school year

Leaving the classroom was a HUGE decision-One that’s difficult to even grapple with as a teacher when our entire identify is the classroom

I knew that if I did this-I’d have to do it my way, or I wouldn’t be able to do it

My way being continuing to fight, support and stand up for teachers

Advocating for students and parents in a supportive way

And being authentically me

I like to think that I still have one foot in the classroom and 1 foot in my admin role because I don’t EVER want to be disconnected from the classroom and not know FIRST HAND what our teachers are dealing with-How can I be affective if I’m not next to them in the trenches?

I wanted to step into this role being the “anti-admin” meaning, not falling into the typical stereotype of someone who is disconnected, doesn’t support effectively and who doesn’t truly lead

I have to say-My first year, I was able to truly do it my way

It’s also helped that I have one of the most amazing principals I’ve ever worked with as my mentor and an a so amazing and compassionate staff-I know this isn’t the norm, so thankful for where I am

I’m happy to answer questions for those thinking about the jump-Drop in the comments or send me a DM!

most people think Memorial Day has always been abo most people think Memorial Day has always been about BBQs and a day off 🇺🇸

but the real origin story is one that was almost completely erased from history — and that’s exactly why we need to teach it

when we only teach the version that made it into textbooks, we are only giving our students half the story

and half the story is not good enough
this is something I feel deeply as a history teacher — our students deserve to know the full picture of history, even when it’s complicated, even when it’s uncomfortable, and especially when it was intentionally left out

it is the entire reason I have spent years creating resources that go beyond the surface

every single resource I make is built around one goal — making sure history teachers have access to lessons that tell the FULL story

because our students deserve that

if that resonates with you and you want a no prep resource that brings the real history of Memorial Day to life in your classroom, drop HISTORY in the comments and I’ll send you some links!
your students are mentally checked out and Memoria your students are mentally checked out and Memorial Day is right around the corner 😅

let me tell you about the lesson that is going to stop them in their tracks this week 👇

my Memorial Day Virtual Field Trip takes your students on an immersive tour of FOUR of America’s most iconic war memorials — the Vietnam War Memorial, the Korean War Memorial, the Marine Corps Memorial, and the USS Arizona Memorial — without anyone leaving their seat 🇺🇸

because we all know the pendulum has swung back and our kids need paper in their hands again and honestly same 😂

here’s what makes this one different ⬇️
✈️ a virtual tour where students actually VISIT each memorial with real links
🗺️ an interactive map activity connecting history to real geography
🪖 a Tomb of the Unknown Soldier exploration with video and guided questions
📱 a social media post activity where students convince others to visit — yes they will be INTO this

print it. assign it digitally. mix both. whatever works for your classroom it is ready to go 👏

drop MEMORIAL in the comments and I’ll send you the link directly 👇
